The Benchmark Cities Survey was designed in 1997 by a group of Police Chiefs from around the country. These chiefs sought to establish a measurement tool to help ensure their departments were providing the best service possible within their respective communities.
The survey provides a wide range of information about each department. With that information, the participating agencies can set better goals and objectives, and compare their performance in the various areas:
-
Section A - Demographics (.pdf file)
-
Section B - General (.pdf file)
-
Section C - Offenses (.pdf file)
-
Section D - Clearances (.pdf file)
-
Section E - Traffic Safety (.pdf file)
The Overland Park Police Department has taken the lead in compiling the survey results and makes them available to all interested agencies.
