Deputy Chief Stephen Ford was the epitome of dedication and determination. He spent his entire career dedicated to serving this organization, often sacrificing time with his family, friends, and other interests for the accomplishment of the Police Department objectives.

Steve Ford was the kind of individual who approached each assignment with the dogged determination to see it through to completion. You knew when you gave Steve Ford something to do that it would be done no matter what it took to accomplish. This trait became his trademark and often led others to see him as pure determination.

There was another side to Major Ford. With those close to him, he shared a unique sense of humor. He also expressed a genuine sense of caring and compassion for others.

Because of his steadfast determination, his dedication to the organization, and his compassion for those with whom he worked, Deputy Chief Stephen E. Ford has left a “Legacy of Excellence”.
