Police Captain, 1976-2001
Captain Jeffery Dysart could very well be described
as an army of one.
Refusing the confines of conformity, Jeff Dysart demonstrated the positive qualities of individual achievement. In his career he was independent, self-assured, and determined to achieve. He used these traits to break down barriers, establish inroads, and to succeed in an organization under change.
Captain Dysart was also an advocate for both officers and opinions not always considered. His insistence at looking at all sides of an issue created both lively discussions and better decisions.
Captain Dysart expected nothing but the best from himself, those under his command and those he worked with. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Sunflower House, which has become regionally known as a refuge for abused children. His love for children was exhibited in many ways, including coaching numerous sports teams in the area.
For his ability to see all sides of the issue, for his sense of advocacy within the Department, and for his commitment to the children of our community, Captain Jeffery Dysart leaves a “Legacy of Excellence”.
