Safety
Cadets will be supervised at all times during Camp Inferno. The Fire Training
Center is a secure facility. Cadets will not socialize with anyone outside
camp.
- Trained, experienced safety personnel will conduct and supervise all
training and activities, which includes many levels of built-in safety.
Cadets will be fully supported and supervised at all times.
- All camp staff are professional firefighters, paramedics, and emergency
medical technicians. There will be a Fire Department Medic
vehicle on-site every day for emergencies.
- An emergency contact is required for each cadet.
- Cadets must be covered by medical insurance during Camp Inferno.
- If a cadet cannot meet the requirements of participation or displays disruptive behavioral problems, she may be sent home at a cost to the cadet.
Cadet Rules
- NO smoking or tobacco products allowed.
- NO alcohol or drugs allowed.
- Authorized visitors only (Prior permission form Camp Coordinator required).
- Cadets must remain on Fire Training Center grounds (Let Crew Chiefs know your whereabouts).
- All phone use is limited to personal time; pay phones have a 10-minute limit.
- NO pagers.
- NO verbal abuse or physical aggression allowed.
- Respect the privacy of others.
- After lights out – NO leaving dormitory.
- NO profanity or disrespectful language.
- Portable music devices with headphones allowed during personal time only.
- Adhere to any specific rules for the Overland Park Fire Training facility.
- Earrings, nose rings, eyebrow rings, etc. shall be removed during drill time.
