Parent information: johnson County meet

Hershey Track logoThe local meet committee wants you and your child to have fun while participating in the Hershey Track and Field Games.

During the meet, we ask that you please stay in the stands during all events.

Also, please note:

  1. There will be two calls over the PA System for each event. Be sure to listen for your child’s event so you can get them to the bullpen on time.

  2. Each participant will report to the bullpen after the event is called. The bullpen is located at the southeast corner of the stadium. At the bullpen, meet officials will organize the participants into heats for each event.

  3. If your child is participating in both the long jump and the softball throw, you should report to their age group softball area first. After their throws, they will go to their long jump area.

  4. Please make sure your child competes in the correct age group. Age is based on the year your child was born:

    • Age Group 6-8: Born in 2000, 2001 and 2002
    • Age Group 9-10: Born in 1998 and 1999
    • Age Group 11-12: Born in 1996 and 1997
    • Age Group 13-14: Born in 1994 and 1995

  5. No shoes with spikes or shoes designed for spikes are allowed in any race. In field events, any shoes designed for turf surface spots (natural or artificial) are not allowed (e.g. football/soccer shoes).

  6. Unofficial results will be posted as soon as possible underneath the West stands.

  7. Official results will be posted on the Johnson County Meet page by June 9. It takes a week to verify the results and birth certificates. Ribbons for the top six finishers will be mailed shortly thereafter.

  8. Participant ribbons and T-shirts will be given to all 6-8 year olds. T-shirts also will be given to participants, ages 9-14, who give us a photocopy of their birth certificate. T-shirts will be available for pick-up at the information tables after your child has finished his or her events.
