Are ya hankerin’ for some good old-fashioned outdoor fun with your children?
Drop what you are doing and come on down to the fishin’ hole at the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead, 138th and Switzer.
The fifth annual Fishing Tournament at the Farmstead is Saturday, July 11, and begins with registration at 7:30 a.m. (early bird gets the worm, and so do the fish).
There are two sessions with 60 two-person teams each. The first session begins 8 a.m. and the second at 9 a.m. Teams will fish with two old-fashioned cane poles and a bucket of worms provided by the Farmstead.
There will be a festival afterward, beginning at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with games, activities and prizes. Each team receives two gift bags, fishing tournament T-shirts, tackle and other prizes. Trophies are awarded to winners in each category.
Cost of registration is $20. You can register online at www.opkansas.org.
