Over 25 mph is 9 times the total number of miles over the speed limit. For example:
30 mph over: 9 x 30 = $270 fine
Convictions for traveling 6 miles per hour or less over the speed limit in a posted zone of 30 or more, but less than 55 miles per hour, are non-moving violations pursuant to K.S.A. 2007 Supp. §8-1560c.
Convictions for traveling 10 miles per hour or less over the speed limit in a 55 mile per hour or greater zone also are non-moving violations pursuant to K.S.A. 2007 Supp. §8-1560c.
For a moving violation in a school zone or construction zone, add $50.
