Dave Janson was appointed to the City Council in December 2003, and was elected to a full term in April 2005.
Councilmember Janson has an accounting degree from Pittsburg State University
and has done graduate work in finance at the University of Texas. He is currently
retired from Sprint Corp.
Councilmember Janson served as President of the original Neighborhood Conservation
Program, which provided the blueprint for the program
that exists today.
Councilmember Janson is a Vietnam era veteran, having served in the United
States Navy from 1969 to 1973. He also is a volunteer at the UMKC Conservatory
of
Music, Jazz Studies, and serves as a board member of the Downtown Overland Park Partnership
Dave is married to Michele, and they have lived in Overland
Park since 1986.
