This division of the Planning and Development Services Department is responsible for plan review, inspection and permit issuance for privately constructed buildings and structures.
Building Safety also works with other divisions and outside customers (.pdf file) on all aspects of the development process (.pdf file).
The Engineering Services, Current Planning, Long Range Planning and Environmental Health divisions and the Public Works Department also are involved in the development process. Each has its own requirements. Please refer to the Development Handbook for requirements and responsibilities of each division.
