Committee Items:

  1. Agreement with Arts and Recreation Foundation of Overland Park for funding the construction of the Dairy Barn Silos at the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead at 138th Street and Switzer;
  2. Agreement with Arts and Recreation Foundation of Overland Park for funding the construction of the General Store/Ice Cream Parlor at the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead at 138th Street and Switzer;
  3. Resolution No. 3674 – Sewer District Enlargement for Blue Valley Elementary School No. 22 located in the vicinity of 165th Street and Quivira; and
  4. Ordinance No. SWT-2747 – Amending section 16.210 of the Municipal Code pertaining to exceptions to the storm water treatment ordinance which requires the construction of stormwater treatment water quality “best management practices” for new development.
Accepted low bid of $359,665 from Wildcat Concrete Services, Inc., for the installation of traffic signals at 137th Street and Metcalf and at 138th Street and Metcalf.

Approved Resolution No. 3675 – Making findings as to the advisability of and authorizing the creation of a Transportation Development District at 107th Street between Nall and Roe (Highland Village project); authorizing the making of certain transportation projects relating thereto; approving the maximum cost of such transportation projects; providing for the method of financing; authorizing the imposition of a Transportation Development District Sales Tax within the Transportation Development District; establishing a method of collection of such sales tax and providing for the segregation of such sales tax revenues for the payment of the costs of certain transportation projects within said Transportation Development District.

Approved Resolution No. 3676 – Making findings as to the advisability of and authorizing the creation of a Transportation Development District at Mission Road and I-435 (Mission Farms West project); authorizing the making of certain transportation projects relating thereto; approving the maximum cost of such transportation projects; providing for the method of financing; authorizing the imposition of a Transportation Development District Sales Tax within the Transportation Development District; establishing a method of collection of such sales tax and providing for the segregation of such sales tax revenues for the payment of the costs of certain transportation projects within said Transportation Development District.

Approved Amendment No. 1 to Agreement with Market Lofts, L.L.C., to extend the term of the temporary construction area located at 80th Street and Marty, for Aug. 15, 2008, through June 15, 2009, in support of a construction project located at 7300 W. 80th St. in Downtown Overland Park.

Heard Mid-America Regional Council Report (MARC) as follows: MARC has met with the various jurisdictions to establish a process for strategic planning on the transportation environment in order to have a consensus about the principles for that planning process.
