    PUBLIC WORKS
    Committee items:

    1. Waive Consultant Selection Process and Authorization to Negotiate Agreement with HDR, Inc., for traffic signal design for the 2008 Traffic Maintenance Signal projects;
    2. Waive Bid Process and Authorization to Negotiate Contract with Rose Lan Contractors, Inc., for materials and labor needed to repair the Quivira Ditchliner.
  2. Approved sole source bid from Medtronic for the purchase of four 12-lead electrocardiogram monitor defibrillators in the amount of $73,416.

  3. Approved bid tabulation from Conrad Fire Equipment, Inc., for the purchase of 2008 Bunker Gear in the total amount of $37,500.

  4. Approved the low bid tabulation from Leath and Sons, Inc., in the amount of $171,800, for 121st Street and Metcalf traffic signal installation.

  5. Approved the following Planning Commission consent agenda items:

      1. Special Event Permit No. 2008-47, vicinity of Santa Fe Drive between 79th Street and 80th Street, to allow a series of special events in downtown Overland Park for 2008;
      2. Special Event Permit No. 2008-62, 6995 W. 151st St., for March 17, from 8 a.m. until 2 a.m., March 18, 2008, to allow a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration event;
      3. Acceptance of Right-of-Way, Final Plat No. 2007-91, Colonnade Office Suites, 6535 W. 151st St.;
      4. Acceptance of Right-of-Way, Final Plat No. 2007-105, Waters Edge Second Plat, vicinity of the northeast corner of 159th Street and Mission;
      5. Ordinance No. Z-3333 (Special Use Permit No. 2007-40), 7000 W. 133rd St., for a five-year period of time to allow a drinking establishment in conjunction with a golf course;
      6. Ordinance No. Z-3334 (Special Use Permit No. 2007-44), 8004 W. 159th St., for a 10 year period of time to allow the renewal of an existing communications tower;
      7. Ordinance No. Z-3335 (Special Use Permit No. 2007-46), 5011 Antioch, for a two-year period of time to allow the renewal of a vehicle rental facility;
      8. Ordinance No. Z-3336 (Special Use Permit No. 2007-48), 6600 W. 143rd St., for a two-year period of time to allow a temporary bank.

  6. Remanded Rezoning No. 2007-23, vicinity of the southeast corner of 159th Street and Metcalf, back to the Planning Commission to review the new plan and consider suggestions offered by the Council.

  7. Approved Monument Sign Approval for Southridge Medical Building, 12541 Foster, for a new multi-tenant monument sign, as presented by staff.
