COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – Staff Items:
- FY 2003 Letter of Understanding for Emergency Assistance – Johnson County Northeast Multi-Service Center for income-eligible Overland Park citizens, for a $7,500 grant;
- FY 2003 Letter of Understanding for Utility Assistance – Johnson County Department of Human Services and Aging for income-eligible Overland Park citizens for a $12,000 grant;
- FY 2003 Letter of Understanding for Human Services Fund – United Community Services of Johnson County, Inc., for a $40,000 grant;
- Agreement with Greater Kansas City Housing Information Center to provide funding for housing counseling services in the amount of $10,000.

- Agreement – SHL USA, Inc., for professional services to assist in the Police Officer hiring process in an amount not to exceed $20,000;
- COPS 2002 Technology Grant – U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Policing Services, in the amount of $500,000 with no City match;
- User Agreements with Olathe Police Department, Leawood Police Department, and Johnson County Sheriff’s Office for provision of Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management and Mobile Reporting;
- Waive Bidding Process and Sole Source Purchase with Motorola for the purchase of Vehicle Radio Modems, using $62,500 from the COPS grant funds and the remaining amount from budgeted funds for a total not to exceed $95,000.

- Approved bid tabulation with Plaza Ford-Ideal Laundry
& Dry Cleaners, Inc., for Police uniform laundering and dry cleaning
for the year 2003, in the amount of $38,840.

- Approved Resolution No. 3299, describing the corporate
limits and boundaries of the City.
- Approved three applications for renewal of drinking
establishment licenses, as listed on agenda, contingent on receiving state
licenses.
- Approved one application, as listed on agenda, for
new drinking establishment license contingent on receiving state license.

Development Committee meeting.
- Rescinded action taken by the Governing Body on November
11, 2002, regarding approval of the Community Development Committee’s
recommendation to solicit proposals to lease or rent the Tomahawk Ridge
Elementary School.
- Directed staff to continue to evaluate expanded uses
at Tomahawk Ridge facility for an expanded community center, City offices,
any organization that does not offer K-12 uses and to no organization that
would jeopardize the real property-tax exempt status.
- Recessed into executive session for a period of time not to exceed 15 minutes for the purpose of discussing the acquisition of real property.
