OP City Council Action Summary - July 8, 2002

  1. Approved the following Consent Agenda items:

    FINANCE, ADMINISTRATION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT – Staff Items:

    1. Council Minutes of June 10, 2002;
    2. Capital Projects Expenditure Ordinance No. 7A, outlining the expenditures from the Capital Projects Funds for June 27 through July 3, 2002.

  2. Approved application for renewal of drinking establishment license, contingent on receiving state license, for Royal China, Inc, d/b/a Korea Royal China Restaurant, 7800 W. 63rd Street.

  3. Approved application for renewal of drinking establishment license contingent on receiving special use permit for Johnny’s Tavern, Inc., d/b/a Johnny’s Tavern, 6765 W. 119th Street.

  4. Approved applications for renewal of drinking establishment and caterers license contingent on receiving state license for Fiorella’s Jack Stack of Overland Park, d/b/a Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbeque, 9520 Metcalf.

  5. Approved bid tabulation from Mega Industries, totaling $2,533,394 including six alternates, for Young’s Pool renovation.

  6. Approved bid tabulation from Image Flooring, totaling $21,970.25, for St. Andrews Clubhouse Carpeting.

  7. Accepted the SFY 2003 Byrne Grant, awarded by the Kansas Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to the Overland Park Police Department, in the amount of $156,735, to obtain equipment for the Criminal Intelligence Division, which requires a $52,245 local match.

  8. Rescinded previous action, taken by the Governing Body on June 10, 2002, regarding the acceptance of a bid tabulation for MEYERS Z-52 Zoysia sod installation from Greenhaven Sod & Landscape to replace the bluegrass fairways at the Westlinks Golf Course.

  9. Rejected all bids on the Meyers Z-52 Zoysia sod installation, which was submitted to the Governing Body for consideration on June 10, 2002.

  10. Recessed into executive session, for a period of ten minutes, to discuss pending litigation regarding the City of Merriam, Kansas, and the City of Overland Park, Kansas, v. HNTB Corporation, et al, subject to the attorney/client privilege.
