OP City Council Action Summary - June 10, 2002

  1. Approved the following Consent Agenda items:

    FINANCE, ADMINISTRATION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: STAFF ITEMS:

    1. Council minutes – April 15 and May 13, 2002;
    2. Confirmed investments in the amount of $2,000,000 in Certificates of Deposit and $4,967,764.17 in U.S. Agency Securities;
    3. Capital Projects Expenditure Ordinance No. 6A – Outlining the expenditures from the Capital Projects Funds for May 30 through June 5, 2002;
    4. Application for New Class B Club Business License – ENN KS, Inc., d/b/a AmeriSuites Overland Park, 6801 W. 112th Street.

    COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: COMMITTEE ITEMS:

    1. Agreement – Johnson County for a Repository Agreement to allow for the transfer of files and records concerning land use, planning, zoning, platting and building permit activity in the recently annexed area of the City;
    2. Resolution No. 3275 – Sewer district enlargement in the vicinity of the northwest corner of 151st Street and Antioch;
    3. Resolution No. 3276 – Sewer district enlargement in the vicinity of the southeast corner of 137th Street and Rosehill;
    4. Resolution No. 3277 – Sewer district enlargement in the vicinity of the southwest corner of 143rd Street and England;
    5. Resolution No. 3278 – Sewer district enlargement in the vicinity of the southwest corner of Roe and 103rd Street;

    STAFF ITEMS:

    1. Special Event Permit No. 2002-173 – Vicinity of the northeast corner of 80th Street and Floyd, to allow a Bible study and fellowship gathering for youths from June 13, 2002, through August 1, 2002;
    2. Special Event Permit No. 2002-179 – 7908 Foster, to allow for a banner and a small sign from June 20, 2002, through November 2, 2002.

  2. Waived the bid process and authorized contract with Olathe Ford (low bidder on the Mid-America Council of Public Purchasing bid package) for the replacement of a wrecked vehicle, in the amount of $22,042.

  3. Approved the agreement with HNTB Corporation for the design of Nall, from 135th Street to 143rd Street, for the base contract amount of $595,375.

  4. Approved the following applications for the renewal of drinking establishment licenses, contingent on receiving state licenses: 1) China East, Inc., d/b/a China East, 12611 Metcalf; 2) O.P. Gallery, LTD, d/b/a, The Gallery, 10440 Marty.

  5. Approved applications for the renewal of drinking establishment and caterers licenses, contingent on receiving state licenses, for Kansas Hospitality Services, Inc., d/b/a Overland Park Marriott, 10800 Metcalf.

  6. Rejected all bids for the Kyocera laser printers.

  7. Accepted the bid from M & M Computers, in the amount of $4,197, for three Hewlett Packard laser printers.

  8. Heard report on the Restaurant Inspection Policy.

  9. Accepted low bid from Greenhaven Sod & Landscape, in the amount of $2.97 per yard, to deliver and install approximately 12 to 15 acres of zoysia sod, for a total estimated amount between $172,500 and $216,000.
