To operate any of these businesses/organizations serving alcoholic liquor you must have a current and unrevoked license with both the City and the State of Kansas.
A license is required for each premise where alcoholic liquor is served. The annual license fee is $250.
Applicants should contact the state prior to applying for the city license, however, you can apply simultaneously. Call the Alcohol, Beverage Control Division of the Kansas Department of Revenue at 1-877-526-7738, select options 1, 5, 4.
The application must be accompanied by a floor plan of where alcohol will be served.
Also, zoning, building codes, fire and police inspections and reviews must be completed before approval may be granted by the City Council.
A copy of the state license needs to be provided to the city before issuance of the city license. The city license period will correspond with the effective dates of the state liquor license.
The definitions for and regulations pertaining to these licenses can be found in the city's municipal code, section 5.20.
