Welcome to Overland Park's building permit application system.

Permit applications are available for residential only. The only residential permits accepted online are those that do not require plans to be submitted.

Your permit application will be reviewed by our staff, and you will be notified when your permit has been issued. If an e-mail address is given, you will be contacted by e-mail when your permit is approved. If no e-mail address is entered, you will be contacted by the primary phone number entered. Your credit card will not be charged until the permit has been issued.

Planning and Development Services Refund Policy
No refunds to credit card accounts. Approved refunds will be refunded in the form of a check from the city.

Building permit fees may be refunded if the applicant withdrew the application prior to commencing work. An inspection may be scheduled to verify that no work was completed. Refunds shall be the full value of the permit less $30 for processing the refund. All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the Supervisor of Permit Service & Support. No refunds will be issued for permits that have become invalid as specified in the building code.

Plan review fees are non-refundable.
