The city inspects all public/semi-public swimming
pools including pools and spas at:
- Apartments
- Home associations
- Hotels
- Health clubs
- Condominiums
- Municipal pools
An annual operating permit is required for each pool and is issued by the Community Services Division after inspection of the pool and receipt of a swimming pool/spa permit application and fee.
Permits:
Inspectors check:
- Disinfection level - 1.0 to 5.0 ppm of Chlorine required
- pH of water - 7.2 to 7.8 required
- Temperature of spas - maximum of 104°F
- Safety signage - "Warning - No Lifeguard on Duty"
- Depth markings, step markings, and transition lines
- Safety equipment - shepherds crook and ring buoy
