The Municipal Code requires all elevator equipment and escalators be inspected every six months.

This periodic testing and inspection is performed in accordance with ASME A17.1 and A17.2.

These inspections shall be performed by a qualified elevator mechanic and witnessed by a city inspector. Anyone in need of an inspection must first employ a qualified elevator contractor who will then coordinate the inspection date and time with the city.

These inspections are made by appointment only.
