STORMWATEr TREATMENT REQUIREMENTS FOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
Overland Park has adopted a new ordinance, requiring development projects to treat stormwater for pollutants before releasing it into our streams and rivers.
The changes have a significant impact on site designs for both private and public development.
Ordinance
The City Council has adopted a stormwater treatment ordinance to comply with the city's National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)
permit process.
Design Standards
The March 2008 version of the MARC BMP Manual has been adopted as the city's stormwater treatment standards. Modifications were made in June 2009.

The APWA Design Criteria Section 5600 has been adopted as the city's stormwater conveyance standards. Modifications were made in June 2009.

These standards apply only to new projects. Applications that have been submitted will not be subject to the new standards, if they are approved.
