The class is mandatory for users whose permit has been suspended for an excess of 10 false alarms in a calendar year. This suspension does require the class for reinstatement.

Police response can also be suspended to alarms users for non-payment of application fees. This particular reinstatement does not require class attendance, only that the fees be paid.
