The First Tee Program

The Skyes/Lady Overland Park Golf Course is a programming facility of The First Tee of Greater Kansas City. This program promotes character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.

Junior Leagues
Junior league participants learn The First Tee Life Skills Experience^TM: self-management, interpersonal communications, goal setting, mentoring and effective conflict resolution.

The Life Skills Experience^TM sets The First Tee apart from other junior golf programs, and ultimately strives to instill in participants The First Tee Nine Core Values^TM: confidence, courtesy, honesty, integrity, judgment, perseverance, respect, responsibility and sportsmanship.

Junior Programs/Lessons
Participants in junior lessons follow the TARGET^TM curriculum while learning The First Tee Nine Core Values^TM. TARGET stands for:

E = "Enjoy it"
T = "Try it"

The First Tee Scholars Program
This program provides qualified participants in The First Tee program a range of merit-based and general scholarships for college.

Every year, Overland Park hosts its Junior Golf Day to solicit memberships and collect money to support junior programs at Sykes/Lady Overland Park Golf Course.
