3:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8 - Snow crews are applying material to arterial and collector streets as light snow falls and temperatures begin to drop well below freezing. Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling.
Due to a number of accidents, Police Department officials are asking drivers involved in non-injury accidents to walk in reports to either the Mryon E. Scafe Justice Center, 8500 Antioch, or W. Jack Sanders Justice Center, 12400 Foster.
If you are involved in an injury accident, call 9-1-1.
Overland Park officials continue to monitor weather conditions.

Parks

Park hours are 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., daily.
Overland Park has 78 parks and open spaces and four small lakes where visitors can run, walk, bike/hike, play and fish. Park hours are 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., daily.
Amenities vary by facility; however, many of the parks have handicap accessible parking, playground equipment, tables, restrooms, drinking fountains, bike & hike trails and athletic fields and courts.
Thirteen of the parks have reservable shelters; all other shelters are free and first-come-first-serve during park hours.
General Information
- Park restrooms are open seasonally, approximately May 1 to Oct. 1.
- Alcohol, fireworks, motorized vehicles/boats, swimming/wading, bathing and woodcutting are prohibited.
- Parks may not be used for commercial purposes.
- Fires are to be built in city-provided grills only and must be extinguished before leaving.
- Trash must be thrown away properly; garbage cans are provided.
- Boats must carry oars and have life preservers for each occupant.
- If you fish, you must have a Kansas fishing license.
- Horseback riding is allowed along bike & hike trails and wooded areas, but not on athletic fields and courts, picnic areas or around playground areas.
