Tours & Programs

The Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead offers two tour packages:
Farm Tour
Groups of 10-40 may make special arrangements for guided tours of the Farmstead. Tour groups must provide one adult for every 10 children over the age of 3, or one adult for every six children, 3 and under.
Cost: $5/person (children and adults)
Includes:
- guided tour,
- a private area for kids to eat lunch (meals not provided),
- wagon ride, and
- feed for the animals.
Availability: Monday-Friday.
Kansas History School Tour
Groups of up to 30 students, first- through fifth-grade, and their chaperones can take a guided tour of the facility that includes historical lessons in the one-room country schoolhouse and Indian Encampment and fishing at Grandpa Bob's Fishing Pond.
Cost: $5/person (children and adults)
Includes:
- use of period costumes,
- class photo (emailed to teacher),
- area for lunch (meals not provided),
- historical lessons and
- fishing.
Availability: Three tour slots daily, Monday-Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Reservations
There is a $5 permit fee for tours. The fee is waived if you sign up online with a credit card. If you are unable to use a credit card, please call 913-895-6390.
Fees are refundable only due to inclement weather.
Other Educational Opportunities
Live Milking Presentations
Attend live milking presentations twice daily in the Dairy Barn.
Education Pavilion
This outdoor facility located next to Vic's General Store will host free daily public programs that cover a variety of topics including: history, animals and family wellness.
The Education Pavilion has bleacher and table seating for over 100 guests and provides them with a quiet place to sit back and relax while enjoying the sights and sounds of the Farmstead.
