Farmstead Attractions and Activities

Animals

The Farmstead has just about any animal found on a Kansas family farm in the 19th Century.

Schoolhouse

Set among our apple orchard, just east of the mining camp, is a replica of a 1900 one-room country schoolhouse.

Dairy Barn

Staff care for calves of the major dairy breeds, a Holstein and a Jersey/Holstein cow, in and around the barn.

Ben's Bank

Stepping inside the bank is like stepping back in time with the building's tin ceilings, old-fashioned tellers cage, and cannon ball safe.

Fishing Pond

Cast your old-fashioned cane pole into Grandpa Bob's Fishing Pond and pull out a fish nearly every single time.

Vic's General Store

A replica of a 1900s general store, Vic's General Store sells Farmstead apparel, old-time candy and fudge, toys, etc. so that visitors are able to take home a little past with them.

Push Pedal Tractors

Children can pick their favorite child-size metal tractor and take it out for a spin on the circle track.

Birthday Parties

Book your child's birthday party at Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead. Guests will enjoy the wagon rides, fishing, mining, pony rides and much more.

Mining Camp

Using a sifter, guests can pour their "rough" and move it around in the water to see what wonderful gems they discover.

Indian Encampment

The encampment and earthen lodge are historically accurate, culturally sensitive replicas of a small Kanza Indian village.

Wagon Rides

Take a relaxing 10-15 minute horse drawn hayride through the woods on the perimeter of the Farmstead.

Pony Rides

Hop on one of our ponies, led by an attendant, and meander around a figure-eight trail.

Alex & Emily's Ice Cream Parlor

Hand-dipped ice cream is featured at the Alex & Emily's Ice Cream Parlor. Other concession food and snacks are also available.

Play Areas

The Farmstead has three play areas for visiting children, including a large covered red slide coming out of a barn.
