The Police Department offers fingerprinting services by appointment only, Tuesday through Thursday, to Overland Park residents.

School Resource Officers (SRO)
For nearly 20 years, the police department has had uniformed officers in the middle and high schools, serving as School Resource Officers, or SROs.
School Crossing Guards
With a wave of a hand and a knowing smile, 55 city employees help with one of the most treasured gifts in Overland Park: our kids.
School Zone Safety
In addition to watching for kids walking or riding their bike, parents need to be mindful of bus, seat belt and traffic laws, particularly in school zones.
Explorers Program
The Explorers Program is an opportunity for the Police Department and the city to invest in the future by teaching boys and girls the ins and outs of police service.
Citizens Police Academy
The Citizens Police Academy encourages partnerships between law enforcement and the community by allowing residents to participate in practical police training and education.
Family Survival Kit (Drugs & Alcohol)
The Family Survival Kit (FSK) is a city-sponsored information packet that is sent to the parents of middle and high school students in Overland Park warning them of the dangers related to alcohol and/or drug abuse.
