Overland Park, KS - From soccer to golf, Overland Park is preparing for the next sports wave of kids.

Beginning Monday at the Sykes/Lady Overland Park Golf Course, 12501 Quivira, more than 450 junior golfers, from 6 to 17 years old, boys and girls, will swing away at an opportunity to win at the 40th Annual Everett Vinzant/John Cosnotti Memorial Junior Golf Tournament.

Tournament play continues through Wednesday, with trophies awarded to winners in various age groups for boys and girls.

Everett Vinzant and John Cosnotti were active in promoting junior golf by providing lessons, establishing leagues and hosting tournaments.

This is one of the oldest junior golf tournaments in metropolitan Kansas City.
