Burn ban for Overland Park
October 21, 2011
Special Note: The burn ban was lifted in fall of 2011.
Per the Overland Park Fire Marshal, all burning in Overland Park is banned, due to low humidity and extremely dry conditions. Both open burning and recreational fires (which includes Fire Pits, portable Fire Pits, Chiminea, and Tiki Torches) is prohibited until further notice.
All issued burn permits are suspended until further notice.
Anyone caught burning during this ban can be issued a $500 fine and ordered to appear in court.
Contact Overland Park's Fire Prevention Division at 913-888-6066 with any questions or concerns or go to the city's website (www.opkansas.org) for more information.
