Time to get wet before some OP city pools close for the season

Overland Park, KS - Several local schools are set to reopen their doors for the upcoming year and that means city pools are starting to close for the season.
Many of the life guards are college and high school students. Due to the conflict of attending class and work schedule, the number of available employees decreases. Therefore, some city pools will close for the season after Sunday, Aug. 15.
Pools that close after Aug. 15 are Marty, Roe and Young's.
Stonegate and Tomahawk Ridge Aquatic Center will remain open through Monday, Sept. 6. Weekday hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m.; weekend hours are from noon to 8 p.m.
Bluejacket pool will be open only on weekends, noon to 8 p.m., through Sept. 6.
From Aug. 16 through Sept. 6, all outdoor pool memberships are valid at the Matt Ross Community Center for use of the indoor pools.
All outdoor pools close after Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6.
