Input sought on road, sidewalk, capital projects at monday meeting
Residents are invited to offer suggestions for the 2011-2015 Capital Improvements Program at the next City Council meeting, Monday, Oct. 19.
The meeting is at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber of City Hall, 8500 Santa Fe Drive.
The Capital Improvements Program (CIP) is a five-year plan to forecast future public improvements and facilities in the city and to provide data concerning need costs, timing, funding sources budget impacts and alternatives.
It includes large projects, such as improvements to residential streets, thoroughfares and sidewalks, and the purchase of large equipment, such as fire trucks.
Preparation of the 2011-2015 CIP represents the first step in development of the 2011 operating budget.
The proposed 2011-2015 CIP will be presented to the Governing Body in December, after which goal area committees will review it. A second set of public hearings will be held during the first quarter of 2010.
