Too many signs, take it down
July 28, 2010
Political signs are popping up, and enforcement is catching up.
Residents and others must be tired of the political season. Overland Park has received complaints about various intersections in town with too many political signs.
A city ordinance permits a total of three political signs on a single property. This includes residential, commercial and office.
Property code enforcement officials are focusing on 10 to 15 intersections in Overland Park, working with property owners or managers to comply with the city ordinance. Since all property owners have the right to control political signs on or in front of their property, city officials urge owners to simply throw away any signs that are placed without their permission.
