Let Fido cool off this summer at the annual pooch plunge.

From 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at Young's Pool, 8421 W. 77th Street, bring your family dog. Only dogs are allowed to swim.

Sorry dogs rule, people drool.

To protect each dog, as well as patrons, proof of current core vaccinations are required in order to enter the facility.

Rules include you must clean up after your pet, no swimming allowed except for dogs and no retractable leashes. The cost is $5 per dog.

Now for us two-legged folks, take advantage of the two-week back to school special.

You can rule at the city's community centers. For all new annual memberships that are paid in full, you will get 10 percent off. For this limited time offer to Matt Ross and Tomahawk Ridge centers, your membership must be purchased between Aug. 15 and Aug. 31.
