It's an election year, and the inevitable political signs are popping up everywhere.

If you are a candidate for any elected office, you and your campaign representatives must receive permission from a property owner prior to posting a sign. Only three signs are allowed per property.

Property owners in Overland Park have the right to remove any sign, political or otherwise, at any time that is on or adjacent to their property.

No signs, including political, may be posted in city parks, at city facilities, in the center median of divided streets or highways, or within highway interchanges.

The city regulates the location, size and number of signs; however, a permit is not required to post political signs.
