The street sweepers clean 1,811 lane miles of streets and about 1,700 cul-de-sacs, typically between March and December.

The frequency of street sweeping is based on traffic levels. The main thoroughfares are swept every six to eight weeks; the downtown area, monthly, when weather permits, and all residential streets, three times a year.

Additional sweeping is done in preparation for street maintenance programs.

To report unusual circumstances, such as broken glass, submit a help request through OPCares, the city's customer service system, with a description of the problem, location and any other pertinent information.
