All privately funded public improvement projects are inspected prior to issuing a permit to ensure they conform to city standards and to provide assistance to contractors meeting Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility guidelines.

Inspectors also ensure the project is in compliance with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit requirements and that all erosion and sediment control standards are being followed.
