What is the penalty if I fail to correct a violation for tall grass and weeds?
If the owner does not correct the violation after proper notification, the city will issue a work order to mow the property. A failed inspection fee of $140 will be charged to the owner of record for not correcting the violation(s) within the specified time frame.
The city will then issue a work order to mow the property. The owner is responsible for the contractor's hourly rate plus a $100 administrative fee. Tall grass or weeds that are cut after notification to the contractor also are subject to the $100 administrative fee and a contractor's trip charge of $25. The property owner also may receive a notice to appear in court.
