Fire extinguisher training is available for business or organizations. Classes can be held at your location and are taught by qualified fire department instructors.

Topics include:

• Elements that make up a fire
• Classifications of fire
• Which Fire Extinguisher to use
• Emphasis on fire/life safety features
• How to operate a fire extinguisher

OPFD will provide a state-of-the-art extinguisher simulator for participants to use.

Class Time: 60 minutes

Host Requirements: The host must provide a classroom large enough to accommodate students seated at tables and a computer and video projector. For the practical application of the class a level surface in an open area along with a water supply will be required.

Location Option: This class can be taught at the OPFD Training Center, 12401 Hemlock. A larger extinguisher prop with dry chemical extinguishers can be used at this site. Contact the OPFD Fire Training Center Mon -Fri at 913-895-8400 for pricing.

Class Size: Minimum of 10; Maximum of 15 preferred. If more than 15, a second instructor will be required.

Fee: The fee for this class is $170. Additional fees will apply if additional instructors are required.

Please note: The instructor reserves the right to cancel the hands on demonstration portion due to inclement weather or if an appropriate site is not available.
