The City of Overland Park is hosting a unique indoor biathlon experience at the Tomahawk Ridge Community Center for current MRCC and TRCC members. All participants will receive an official indoor biathlon T-shirt. Winners receive 3-month membership extension.

7:30 - 10:30 a.m.

Eligibility
- MRCC & TRCC members only (excludes Group Exercise Memberships)
- 18 and older
- $25 per participant
How it works
There will be six divisions:
- Men's
- 18-34 Years Old
- 35-49 Years Old
- 50+ ( Age fifty and older)
- Women's
- 18-34 Years Old
- 35-49 Years Old
- 50+ ( Age fifty and older)
Participants will perform: (see details)
- 20 minutes run on a treadmill
- 20 minutes bike on a stationary bike
Five minutes between events
Heats
Nine competitors per heat (45 total participants)
Heats start every 20 minutes (5 heats total)
- 7:30 a.m.
- 7:55 a.m.
- 8:20 a.m.
- 8:45 a.m.
- 9:10 a.m.
Total time from start to finish for each heat is 45 minutes.
Awards
- All participants will receive a t-shirt.
- Champions will receive a three month extension on their current membership.
NOTE: There must be at least three (3) competitors in a division for it to have an award given to a champion.
Event Details
(Events must be performed in this order.)
Run Event
- 20 minutes
- Held at a Life Fitness treadmill
- Nine runners per heat
- Distance will be rounded up to the nearest 10th of a mile.
Bike Event
- 20 minutes
- Nine bikers at a time
- LeMond spinning bike with computerized odometer will be used.
- Participants will be able to set their own tension on the bike.
- Distance will be measured in yards rounded up the nearest yard.
Scoring
- Points will be awarded for each event. The scoring will be in descending order. For example: First place will receive one point. Eighth place will receive eight points.
- Each event's order of finish will rank by the distance traveled in a pre-set time.
- The scores from each competitor's events will be combined to give a total score.
- The person with the lowest total score from each division will be the division champion.
Scoring Example:
Bob Smith has:
- The third furthest overall distance in the run= 3 points
- The fourteen furthest overall distance in bike= 14 points
- The fifth furthest overall distance in the swim=5 points
His total score is 22 points. His total score is then compare to others in his division to determine the winner of the division
Registration
First come - first serve registration for preferred heat time. If a heat is full, the participant must pick a different heat time.
How to register

- Select heat time. (If the heat does not show, it is full and another time must be selected.)
