Stormwater Resources

Stormwater originates from rain, snow, irrigation or other activities that flow across streets, parking lots, driveways and yards. The water is carried by gutters and ditches into storm drains where it flows into streams, lakes and rivers.

Without proper treatment, the pollutants in this water (soil, pet waste, salt, pesticides, fertilizers, oils, grease, litter, etc.) can diminish water quality for residents.

The city has developed a set of resources - standards, ordinances and policies - that must be followed when creating new public improvement projects.
