Rental Property/Landlord Information

Owners of single family, duplex or triplex rental properties are required by city ordinance to register their property with the city.

The information gathered during the registration process is used to locate single family, duplex and triplex rental properties as well as to provide contact information on the individuals who own the property should the city need to contact them.

The yearly fee is $10 for the first rental unit and $2 for each additional unit.

The yearly fee (Jan. 1-Dec. 31) is due on or before Jan. 31.  After Jan. 31, a penalty of $20 per property will be added for late payments.

Renewing Permit

If you are renewing your registration you may renew online by entering your Landlord Number and key word listed on the statement that you received from the city. If you do not have a statement, please contact our Community Services for assistant at 913-895-6270.

Refund Policy

• Community Planning and Services fees are not refundable.
• Overpayment of fees: No refunds will be processed unless the amount received is more than $10 over the amount.
