A license is required for anyone who engages in the business of purchasing precious metal for the purpose of reselling such metal in any form to include gold, silver or platinum group metals or any used personal property containing such metals.

This does not include coins purchased for their numismatic value rather than their metal content, ingots, other industrial residue or byproducts composed of such metals purchased from manufacturing firms.

The application and a $25 annual fee can be dropped off at the City Clerk's Office or mailed to: City Clerks Office, City Hall, 8500 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS, 66212.
