Request a Guest Speaker

The Police Department receives hundreds of requests annually to speak with community groups on safety and security.

While the department values this opportunity, they do limit their participation to events that contribute directly or indirectly to the safety and welfare of residents.

Because of limited resources, officers will not be scheduled to present to groups of less than 10 people (Exceptions: residential and commercial security surveys where the officer may contact one or two individuals). You can videotape the presentation.

All guest speaker requests must be made at least 14 days in advance. Requests will be processed within four working days, and the individual making the request will be contacted.

Requests for the Police Chief: Speaking engagements specifically requesting Police Chief John Douglass should be forwarded to his office by e-mail: police@opkansas.org.
