2013-2017 CIP & Five-Year Financial Plan

The City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) is a five-year plan to forecast future public improvements and facilities in the City and to provide data concerning need costs, timing, funding sources budget impacts and alternatives.

Preparation of the 2013-2017 Capital Improvements Program represents the first step in development of the 2013 operating budget and Five-Year Financial Plan, as both the capital improvements plan and budget are developed in the context of the City's five-year expenditure and revenue forecast.

The proposed 2013-2017 CIP was presented to the Governing Body at a Committee-of-the-Whole Meeting on December 19, 2011. During the month of January, Goal Area Committees reviewed projects within each committee's jurisdiction.

The Committee of the Whole is scheduled to consider Goal Area Committee recommendations during the first quarter of 2012. A public hearing on the Committee of the Whole's final recommended 2013-2017 CIP will be held at the February 20 City Council meeting. Adoption of the 2013-2017 CIP for budget planning purposes is expected to occur March 5, 2012.
