2006-2010 Capital Improvements Program
The 2006-2010 Capital Improvements Program (CIP) totals $188.1 million. Of that total:
- 69.9 percent of expenditures is for street infrastructure improvements
- 22.5 percent, parks, public facilities and equipment
- 7.6 percent, other infrastructure needs.
The CIP includes $62.4 million of funding for projects to be constructed and/or financed in 2006, including:
- Construction of a downtown community center
- 2006 Residential Street Program
- Widening of 135th Street, Metcalf to Nall avenues and Switzer to Antioch roads
- Widening of Switzer, 135th to 141st streets
- Widening of 151st Street, Antioch to Quivira roads
City funding sources, including sales tax, debt and pay-as-you-go resources from the city's Capital Improvements Fund, will pay for 53.6 percent of plan funding. The remaining 46.4 percent will be provided by non-city sources, including federal, state, county, other city and developer funding.
The final 2006-2010 CIP was adopted in August 2005 as part of the 2006 Budget.
