Legacy of Greenery Committee
The Legacy of Greenery Committee, the city's official Tree Board, promotes landscaping throughout the city by advocating and encouraging the proper planting and maintenance of trees, shrubs, flowers and turf.
In 2010, Bridging the Gap awarded the Legacy of Greenery Committee its Heartland Tree Alliance Award for protecting, preserving and increasing the metropolitan area's urban forest.
The committee has 12 members who are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Governing Body. Members serve a two-year term.
Meetings generally are held at 7 p.m., the first Thursday of every month in Conference Room 1 of City Hall, 8500 Santa Fe Drive. The public is welcome.
If you need accommodations for the meeting, contact 913-327-6639 (Kansas relay service 800-766-3777). Please give 48 hours' notice.
